Primary Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will contribute to research and development efforts, focusing on the synthesis and purification of novel molecules.
Skills & Requirements:
- Degree in chemistry, organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience in organic synthesis of peptides and small molecules.
- Proficiency in isolating small molecules and peptides using extractive and chromatographic techniques.
- Familiarity with rotary evaporators and lyophilizers.
- Ability to work independently under the guidance of senior chemists in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to safety, particularly regarding laboratory hazards.
- Experience with peptide synthesis, radiochemistry, mass spectrometry, Teledyne-ISCO Combiflash, GMP practices, or Shimadzu instruments is a plus.
The Organic Chemist's responsibilities will be:
- Purify novel molecules using techniques such as liquid extraction, flash chromatography, thin-layer chromatography, and preparative HPLC.
- Assist in the synthesis and preparation of ligands, linkers, and chelators.
- Prepare buffers and solutions to support chemistry activities, including in-process analyses and reaction monitoring.
- Manage chemical inventory, stocking, and hazardous waste pick-up.
